Facing debt, divorce would be enough to send most people spinning into a black hole of depression.
But for life coach Sue Stone – who says 1999 was her ‘annus horribilis’ – hitting rock bottom wasn’t the moment she gave up, but the moment she turned her life around. Sue, now full fills her life long goal of traveling around the world.
Nearly two decades on, the Brtish mogul lives in the lap of luxury, having made a fortune by helping others to capitalise on the power of positive thinking in the same way she did.
‘It was one of the most challenging times in my life,’ Sue explains to presenter Katherine Ryan, which follows the lives of self-made influencers.
‘I split up with my husband, [had] huge debt, three young children, the bank was about to repossess my home, [I had] maxed out on all the credit cards and loans…
As well as appearing on Channel 4’s Secret Influencers, which saw her donate £15,000 to a homeless man to start a charity, she has also written a book Love Life, Live Life, and released a DVD that explains how you can ‘Unlock Your Inner Influencer’.
Sharing some of her sage advice with Katherine in the programme, Sue says: ‘Stop self-sabotaging. Poor thinkers will never be rich, I’m not meaning money. But those who focus on hate will never be successful.
‘My energy is very positive, very strong, and I give my best.
‘I don’t get caught in the drama of it. I’ve helped tens of thousands of people around the world now and it’s a wonderful thing.’
